Greetings from InfoToday!
You may not remember but I met you all at the RAMS conference this year - I was the hard to understand Australian fella. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did and it was great to meet you all and get to know the other people in the world who use RAMS. It’s been a while now though since the conference so I wanted to refresh your memory on how InfoToday can help you get the most out of your RAMS systems. The products developed by InfoToday are already in use by people like you and are saving money and providing better customer offerings to people just like you. Essentially there are three products on offering for you. In summary they are: Rams.Net Portal The Rams.Net portal lets you give your users access to their RAMS data over the WEB. It’s a web site that you can either buy and host yourself OR simply subscribe to the service on the InfoToday WEB site and pay a cheap monthly fee. From this web site you can let your customers view a cut down version or their RAMS data including all their invoice information and their service information. Also they can perform the following functions, Edit their contact details, Pay an Invoice, Book a Service or Log an Issue. For the technically minded of you out there it’s worth telling you that the RAMS.Net portal is a .Net web site which uses the ITRDS (described next) for all communication to and from the RAMS systems. InfoToday RAMS Data Server InfoToday is the maker of the official RAMS API. This interface, the InfoToday RAMS Data Server (ITRDS), is a powerful data engine providing fast and flexible read and write access to RAMS data to suite your business needs. What does this mean to you? Well if you ever need to read data from or write data to your RAMS system from other applications YOU NEED THIS PRODUCT. By using this product to perform these functions you are saving yourself huge amounts of money in development costs and maintenance costs and development time for the function you are trying to achieve. Briefly; All the hard work or understanding how RAMS works is done for you and wrapped up in an application which hides all ugly stuff. It lets you get away with often as little as 10 lines of code to perform functions which in the background are running hundreds if not thousands of lines of coded (this is no exaggeration) Also you save money when RAMS gets upgraded as often this can have no effect on the code you have written to use the ITRDS. All the changes are hidden within the application. All you need to do is update the API with the version relevant to the RAMS version you’re using. InfoToday RAMS Application Server In conjunction with the ITRDS, InfoToday has developed the InfoToday RAMS Application Server (ITRAS). This is a visual form plug in that can be integrated into almost any application. This tool will allow your staff to easily access, view and navigate through a customers' RAMS information from within whatever application you want. This tool can save you huge amounts of money by removing the need to setup expensive data integration tools. With just a few lines of code you get a fully integrated form you can plug into your applications and never have to worry about data synchronisation OR changes to RAMS data structures in version upgrades.
